Hog Haven Farm seeking help for its farmers market operation in the Falls Church and surrounding areas.

We are a heritage hog farm who also vends hot, made on-site breakfast sandwiches featuring the pork we raise [www.HogHavenFarm.com].

Looking for help with the following:

1) Booth Worker: Both cooks and salespeople needed. Prefer those with some kitchen and/or front house restaurant experience, but only entry level skills required and will train the right candidates. Some sales ability also a plus. Weekend mornings, 4 to 6 hours per shift.

2) Warehouse Worker: Has various duties from organizing equipment and supplies to loading/unloading vehicles to driving to pickup/deliver equipment and supplies to reconciling and maintaining inventory to general post-market cleanup. Fridays from 11 to 4 and Saturday and Sunday afternoons for 4 to 5 hours, also potentially one other half day during the week.

3) Food Prep: Assisting with prepping food to be cooked at the markets, requiring some basic kitchen skills or ability to learn. Two days a week from around 8 to around 3 at the warehous in Falls Church.

Note the warehouse and prep positions have most often been filled by those that also work at the market booths who are seeking extra hours, but can be applied for separately.

Compensation for the booth worker position is a starting base hourly pay of $12 per hour, plus tips and commissions (average take home pay $25+/hr - cash payment at end of shift - there is a 3 shift paid training period, base only). Worker discount also offered and 1 free sandwich per shift.

These positions taken separately are part-time, but there is the potential for a fulltime job for someone who is qualified to fill all or most of these roles. Pay for that or for those that apply only for the warehouse or prep positions would be negotiated based on ability and experience.
